I'm surprised the 3GS made the cut. iOS6 must not increase system requirements much. Not having the iPad1 is very surprising. It's basically in iPhone4. Way to fragment, Apple.

I'm not surprised that iOS6 isn't for the iPad. No big deal.. will still get years of use out of it.

As the slide shows and how wording is used, it shows that APPLE - and that GUY who now runs it have done something stupid.

"iPad 3rd gen"? Or when looking at the compatibility list:
    iPad 2
    iPad 3rd gen

Calling it the "new iPad" was the dumbest thing Apple has done in a while.
It looks like an iPad 2, it performs the same... they should have called it:
    iPad 3
    iPad 2 GT
    iPad 2 XD
    iPad 2 SS

"New iPad"?! What happens when you are selling one? "For sale: Used new Ipad" - is it an iPad1, how is something New forever?

    idiots.

Oh dear, no iOS6 on iPad 1... looks like I'll be selling and saving the money to put towards a much more affordable and feature rich Win8 tablet later in the year... it was always just a matter of time!!

I've already ditched the iPhone 4 for Windows Phone 7.5 with absolutely no complaints and my tablet will follow very shortly now! No reason to stay with Apple and with hearing about a new court case, where Apple tries to take action against one of it's competitors every day, I'll take great pleasure in doing so!!

Make no mistake, Windows 8, WP, XBOX 720, etc, etc.. will make for a far more complete eco system and be much more accesible to the masses due to a variety of hardware platforms and price points!

Take the Carephone Warehouse offer on the PAYG Nokia Lumia 710 for instance... a cracking little Windows Phone for under £100...!!
