It’s a common way to get a cheap laugh: mention that China doesn’t care about IP infringement and that a lot of fake products exist. There are a good number of people willing to copy just about anything if it gives them a way to make a quick Yuan. So color me unsurprised to find a fake MacBook Air at one of the small booths hidden in the corner.
The fact that it was presented at the front of a moulding company booth makes it all the more amusing. This wasn’t a system, but a picture of an iOS desktop was plastered on the ‘screen’. Someone should tell these guys about what the MacBook chassis color actually is, and how the logo isn’t fully underlined.
They also got a bit agitated when I started taking pictures.

Is it a look-alike PC that has a reskinned OS, or is it a "commercial" Hackintosh (i.e., running a hacked OSX)? Inquiring minds want to know.olafgarten - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
I don't think the laptop is real, it's just a casing with a sticker of a desktop on the screen.hirschma - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
OK, now it's clear (and now I actually read the article) - it's just a prop for selling the desk. Nothingburger.philehidiot - Saturday, June 1, 2019 - link
JUST A PROP?!How wrong you are. This is the original inspiration for the Air. Apple ripped it off and made a few pathetic modifications to mask their lack of any real design ability.
You people, always accusing the Chinese of ripping off good design. Never consider it might be the reverse.

Have you been IKEA? Lots of MacBook , iMac, TV dummy here. They are selling TABLE!philehidiot - Sunday, June 2, 2019 - link
Have you ever overlaid a graph of Ikea's growth since the 1970s with the increase in divorce rates? I know correlation and causation when I sees it. I bet Apple's design team visit Ikea on a regular basis both to rip off the "fake" laptop designs and to get rid of the evil, money grabbing women they've got adhered to their wallets like leeches. You have a high paying job and want to lose the money grabbin', moochin' wife who's no longer pretty? Take a trip to Ikea. A surefire way to initiate divorce proceedings.Yes, this is a joke. Get over it. ;)

*insert uncalled for joke about how the fake is more useful than the real thing and is priced at what a MacBook is actually worth*GreenReaper - Saturday, June 1, 2019 - link
It's hard to compete with the power consumption of a sticker!(Although I guess you do need lights on to see it...)

Look at the background, they probably are selling desks or stands, and put a dummy on their actual product for demonstration. Otherwise will you left a real macbook air unsupervised?wilsonkf - Friday, May 31, 2019 - link
Would they be in trouble if they made their macbook air dummy too real?
