Performance

The Quantum Fireball Plus LM is a very solid drive turning in impressive results, and one of the few drives that brings direct head to head competition to the highly rated Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 40. The performance of the Fireball Plus LM was on par with that of the DiamondMax; but we still feel the Maxtor unit managed to hold on to its lead by a slim margin.

Features

All the standard features are included, as found on a typical 7200-RPM, Ultra ATA/66 drive, with the addition of Quantum’s DPS and SPS systems to help users protect their data. A standard 3-year warranty shows that Quantum is willing to stand behind their products.

Price

Very competitively priced with other drives of similar performance and capacity, the Quantum Fireball Plus LM, model number QMP30000LM-A can be found for around $250.
