How it Rates

AnandTech Video Card Rating

Rating (x/10)

Performance

The Annihilator2 was slightly faster than the GLADIAC ULTRA, but for the most part it was within a decent range of what we were expecting from an Ultra board.

6.0

Price

Creative Labs gets the slight edge here as well. While any Ultra based card is inherently high in price, the Creative Labs Annihilator2 Ultra should be around $50 cheaper than other boards.

5.5

Drivers

We've always been impressed with the 3D Blaster Control drivers, and the possibility of using the FastTrax drivers for those that want the benefits of the latest Detonator drivers as well as Creative's own driver interface is a perfect balance for the user that wants more than just NVIDIA's reference driver utility.

7.5

Features

Like most of Creative's other cards, the Annihilator2 Ultra gets hit here pretty hard. With no additional features to boast other than the Ultra chip itself, the card gets a low rating.

3.5

Retail Availability

While it won't be as widely available as the GeForce2 GTS based Annihilator2, the Ultra will definitely benefit from Creative's long reach into many world markets. It won't be hard finding one of these cards if you really want one.

8.5

Documentation & Software Bundle

Nothing special here, just the usual from Creative. There is no real software bundle with the card either, just the drivers and some technology demos. Creative does package their Lava! MP3 player with the card however.
