While Anand is away on a well-deserved vacation (ed: and as such isn’t around to stop us from doing this), we wanted to give The Boss a very special shout-out to wish him a happy 30th birthday.
For those of you familiar with our history, Anand has operated AnandTech since he was just 14 years old, which means he’s now been writing reviews (and breaking things) for half of his life. And while he has slowed down a bit with age – we understand that he sometimes sleeps now – his hard work still puts the rest of us (younger and older) to shame. But in all seriousness, even after having read AnandTech for most of those 15 years and worked for Anand for many of them, he continues to amaze us on a regular basis.
Of course they say that with age comes wisdom. On his 30th birthday it’s clear that Anand acquired both of those in spades – which is probably why he’s on vacation while we’re still working (ed: hey!).

I don't know how long I have been reading Anandtech but I am pretty sure it was right around 1999 when I stumbled upon this site. I subscribed to CPU magazine for a couple of years to read Anand's monthly column (before they lost all their writers and turned it into a zombie mag).But anyway, Anand answers emails from Joe-Blow readers (like me). As intelligent and well-regarded as he is - he strikes me as a humble, centered man ... and I just wanted to say "thanks" for making the world a little better place ... not only from the perspective of your fine work but also for being a good guy in a world of really big egos.
