Intel is going the third-party route again with their new D101GGC desktop motherboard. The MicroATX LGA775 motherboard is apart of Intel's Essential Series and features the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 PCI-Express IGP chipset. Intel's use of the Radeon Xpress 200 IGP is a huge step forward in graphics performance compared to Intel's Extreme Graphics architecture. To get a rough estimate on how the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 IGP stacks up, take a look at a few benchmarks from our site.
Intel's stamp of approval on this chipset should be a big boon to the folks at ATI. Intel's motherboards are known for their freakishly stable operation (even if their overclocking options are limited), so the selection of the Radeon Xpress 200 is quite notable indeed.
