Pioneer 9mm Thick Plasma Concept

Pioneer showed off an impressive prototype 9mm thick 50" plasma at their booth at this year's CES.  We've seen a lot of thin LCD and OLED displays on the show floor, but this plasma is very impressive.  Since it's a prototype, there's not many details on the set other than it's 1080P.  And apparently the guys from the Sony booth weren't too happy when they saw this set...

and cool. Now, I'm assuming the "Sony booth weren't too happy when they saw this set" comment was made by the Pioneer people. Anyword on the power consumption and heat put off by this 9mm 50" plasma monitor? What type of connections did it have and how was the picture? Did it lose any image quality as a compromise for it's thinness? Inquiring minds want to know!
