Yeah, that diagram looks nasty. I emailed him about it, but he never responded. :(

I don't think Johan made that diagram. If I am not wrong, he probably copy-n-pasted it from an official document or something.

Get this guy some nice charting software. His illustrations don't come close to matching the rest of the site...

It's still a little odd not seeing Johan's byline at AcesHardware anymore, but you've definitely got one of the most respected writers around and I expect his articles will be even better then the high standard we're accustomed to now that he has the resources of AnandTech behind him.

I must admit, what I like best about the article was the "References" section with allllll the links that Johan used in his research.

Very polished stuff; the scholarly credibility goes way up with references, of course, but for guys like me that's interested in the wild tangents while reading a technical article, this was a godsend.

Anand, I'd love to see more of this stuff in other articles. It's all concise and in one place!

Yeah, I have to say, great article... you sure can pick your staff Anand. Throw in a couple more recipes and use stepmania with video for benchmarking and I'd say "anandtech is the best site in the whole world" without hesitation.

That's great to hear! Drop him an email (johan@anandtech.com) and let him know.

    Take care,

Johan's article was nice! Though a bit hard at times to understand but thats understandable considering the depth it went into. Still a good read though! Learned some things to :)

    Bob

Hannibal's articles are always top notch, this one included. Beyond comparison, his article was the best out of everything that's been posted about Cell. My problem is that the remaining 99% of articles (basically all of those published before Hannibal's) told me absolutely nothing, and often times just raised more questions than they answered - other than telling me how many transistors the chip had and how big it was :)

    Take care,
    Anand

I'm curious what you think of Ars Technica's article on the cell processor here:
