For me, there's nothing quite like publishing an article that you've been working on for a while. It's like the heaviest weight in the world was all of the sudden lifted off my shoulders as soon as that thing appears on the front page. Some of you have asked for a comparison between Core 2 Duo and Core Duo, and today that's what you get.
I've got two more things on my immediate plate that need finishing; my Energy Efficient Athlon 64 X2 piece and my HD-DVD/Blu-ray article. I'd like to give you an ETA on both, but it's far too early in the process to really have anything certain.
It's been ridiculously hot here, but I just came to the realization yesterday that the last time I was living in NC during the summer I was still in school, so I had to deal with commuting and walking around in 100 degree very humid weather during the day. Now with school out of my hair, I can just make sure I don't emerge from my cave until it's cooler and I avoid all of the negative aspects of NC summers. As simple as it may seem, this is truly an amazing revelation for me :)

I was on vacation a week ago in Myrtle Beach, SC, and it was quite hot. However, coming back home to NJ, it's still the same. ~_~Global warming, all! ;)

I live near Sacromento, here we lack the humidity but we make up for it in pure heat. We had a 9 day heat wave with tempatures all above 100, with a peak of 111. I hate the summers here.creathir - Thursday, August 3, 2006 - link
my beloved North Carolina... though that humid heat is something I can do without. I spent two summers of my childhood working for a lawn care business with my grandfather in Winston-Salem. (We had already moved here to Texas from Raleigh) Boy... talk about HOT... 13 yards in one day... thats a lot of weed-eatin'! The trees though are the biggest thing I miss... (so trivial, I know) Living in the San Antonio area their idea of "trees" are these shrub oaks that would pass for shrubery back east. Glad to see the article got published... The trees are why my parents moved me here, that and the fact that I said I wanted to go to medical school when I was little. One out of two aint bad :)If you ever head back this way drop me an email :)

Funny... I wanted to be a Doctor too, but ended up in computers. At least my patients don't complain when they're sick and I don't have to hassle with insurance!Anand... I know that it's a totally different kind of site, but I really miss the old days in the 90's when you gave your personal updates as part of the front page. In some ways, I lived my 30's vicariously through your teens reading about your school adventures and such.
Ah well... life goes on!

Certainly will. I make it out there once a year at least to visit my extended family. (Usually at Christmas time or so) Cousin is at State right now, and his sister starts this month. Great place to live, and the people have always been fantastic around there. Nothing like growing up in little 'ol Cary... just a little different back then... and we moved only 14 years ago! I love reading your updates on the area... brings back fantastic memories.- Creathir
