Quick recap from the day:
1) We stayed just outside Bern, Switzerland at what looked to be a sketch hotel called the Park Inn.
2) The Park Inn turned out to be a very nice (and quite affordable) 4 star hotel with the strangest shower ever (pictures to follow tomorrow).
3) I promptly got sick around 4AM from something strange I ate in Germany during the day. That wasn't fun.
4) What was supposed to be an 8AM start turned into a 12PM start for me, but I felt a lot better after some unpleasantness.
5) We made it out to Geneva after a frustratingly slow drive (compared to Germany at least). You have to pay 30 euros to drive in Switzerland, I figured for that much we should at least get to have a better driving experience or massaging roads. I guess not.
6) The show itself was pretty big but honestly it wasn't much different from any other auto show, just with cooler cars. I was mostly interested in the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the Ferrari 430 Scuderia, both of which didn't blow me away as much in person as I expected. I think the LP560-4 would look better had Lamborghini showed it off in a color other than the black they had at the show. The Scuderia could've also made a better impression if it were actually visible from all angles, unfortunately only the front was readily accessible. The higher end cars were all roped off except for those who I'm guessing were potential buyers, friends of the factory or smoother talkers than yours truly ;)
I've got a lot of pictures but they're sitting in Christoph's car downstairs and I don't think waking him up to get the keys is the best idea.
7) After leaving Geneva we spent some time in Lausanne, Switzerland which gave us the most traffic we'd seen on our entire European adventure. I did get to fawn over a Carrera GT driving next to us for a while. That experience alone increased my appreciation for the city tenfold.
8) I'm silly. I know.
9) Leaving Lausanne we headed for Bern, where we're staying tonight. Tomorrow we're going to cross back into Germany, make a quick detour into France before eventually heading for Frankfurt where Manny and I will leave on Sunday.
Time to sleep. Gnite folks.

Looking at where you've been it seems like most of your time in Europe has been spent driving! :)puffpio - Saturday, March 8, 2008 - link
no time for a nurburgring nordschliefe detour????Sunrise089 - Saturday, March 8, 2008 - link
In a rental? I know it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow, but I'd be too scared of getting smacked into by another tourist who just picked up their Euro-delivery M3 and wanted to see what 10/10s felt like.Christoph Katzer - Saturday, March 8, 2008 - link
That was my car :)customcoms - Sunday, March 9, 2008 - link
Sounds like you guys also got to see the problem with fast cars in Switzerland-traffic. Its really frustrating driving around Zurich in a Carrera 4S in second gear the whole time...
