The Xbox 360 Slim (Valhalla): Dissection Galleries Up

Today UPS dropped off my Xbox 360 Slim (codename Valhalla) and I did exactly what you'd expect me to: run power numbers on it and take the whole thing apart. I've posted pics of the system compared to the old Jasper Xbox 360 here and a gallery of my dissection of the system here. Expect to see some power and noise data soon followed by a detailed dissection guide. And if you're looking to get your hands on one the Microsoft Store apparently got a shipment of around 20,000 boxes and aren't anywhere near selling them all out.

Ugh, this is so ugly. Why do consumer electronics makers insist on glossy finishes? You take it out of the box and it will look like crap for the rest of its life.Please, make matte finish devices!!!!

I second that, looks cheesy! Matte is much better. That goes for glossy screens also, it may increase sharpness and look good, but a little bit of light and you cant see the screen and are blinded. Horrible!!Freezebyte - Thursday, June 17, 2010 - link
That they have the fan positioned to "suck" on the heatsink rather then "blow' But that would make more sense to reduce the amount of dust intake into the system, especially lying horizontally.And gloss finishes rules, why the hell does everyone else have to always touch everything and then gripe about fingerprints?

I still don't understand why they can't do an internal power supply. The PS3 slim I have has one and the console is smaller than the 360.
