Are these phone prices unlocked, or with carrier contract?
  • DanD85 - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

I assume the price of $199 for zenphone 2 and $399 for zenphone zoom are all on-contract price?
  • RaLX - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

According to Gizmodo is off-contract prices.
  • danbob999 - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

sounds too good to be true
  • aryonoco - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

Why? Those are exactly the price range of the original Zenfone, and they've been very successful with them.

This is basically what a mid-range 2015 phone is going to look like, and they generally go for $200-$250 (outright, off contract).

  • kron123456789 - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

    It's 4 f******g GB of RAM in a f******g smartphone. And it's not even a flagship smartphone.
  • danbob999 - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

We need 4GB more than we need quad-core CPUs or 2k displays.
  • nikaldro - Thursday, January 8, 2015 - link

    More than 2K? Yes
More than quad cores? Hell no
  • Orwelian84 - Monday, January 5, 2015 - link

Intel is finally getting serious about Mobile it seems, which would be great more competition will mean better SoCs for us.

Also,if those are off contract prices I may seriously consider the Zenphone Zoom. I'll be waiting for a few reviews though, Asus products have been hit or miss for me in the past.
